Some club and bar owners found a loophole on the current regulations. Instead of closing at 10, they brought beds into their places of entertainment and extended opening hours. The government “frowned” and closed the loophole.
The city council adopted the regulation 2 years ago. In certain parts of the city bars can stay open between 10 pm. and 6 am. only in case they are at places of accommodation. The “remedy” for this was to transform the places of entertainment themselves into places of accommodation by bringing beds into them. The government decided to close this loophole and restrict the exemption to hotels and pensions. It’s not yet sure whether the regulation will be put into force on 1 September or October.
